Why I blog.
this represents why I blog. First....please...excuse me. I really am just learning how to use the functions on my computer. I do not know how to link, or to "cut-n-paste", or to even post a gosh darn "badge" for my flickr page onto my blog page. So....please bear (or bare) with me as I write this post. I have been an artist my entire life. My degree is in Elementary Education & Art. I have been a stay-at-home Mother for 10 years. Now that my youngest is about to begin Kindergarten in the Fall......I have this situation... Should-I-go-back-to-work?-just-part-time?-but-who-wants-to-hire-me-when-I-have-to-have-time-off-when-ever-my-children-are-sick?-and-I-must-have-the-summers-off-and-I-forgot-how-to-write-a-resume'-where-is-my-resume'?-how-much-do-people-make-an-hour-these-days?-and-who-in-the-world-do-I-put-down-as-references??????? This ranting leads to my point I'd like to make. Somehow it does connect to my ranting...really...I think it does. The photo above is of a card I made a few months ago. I was inspired by someone in this blogland. Soulemama, angrychicken, littlebirds, greenkitchen, a bird in the hand, weewonderfuls, .............................and so many, many, many, many more of you..... are totally my inspiration & motivation to keep plugging away with my creative side. Thank You! Making that card is caused a domino effect for me & I am making lots & lots of Art. I am using my creativity in new ways and I am very happy about that.
Port2Port has been discussing " why we blog..." & I think it's very smart to stop & really think about it. Many of us have children that are very savvy with technology & these days we live with a real fear of exposing our children to the internet. Rightly so. The internet scares me. This is one area of parenting that our parents did not have to worry about. With all the stuff that is out there in the internet world that is frightening.................it is such a true pleasure, such a nice thing to stumble upon a real group of bloggers who are using the internet for such a positive purpose. Sewing, baking, cooking, reading great books, gardening, tending to babes, thrifting, designing, .... it is all so healthy and good and all part of creating a home.
I like blogging because it is good for me. It helps me to be a better me. And in turn - am being- I like to think-a better Mother.
Hey.... and here's a little fact..... I was actually standing & staring at our large school-room United States map that is hanging on our wall in our entryway and thinking "hmmmm - that's where Portland, Maine is.... oh, that's where Portland, Oregon is.... and Australia is way over there...... wow, and I look at these people's blogs..... and I'm way over in little ol' Wisconsin.....Crazy!" That is why I blog.

Hi. I found your blog by clicking on a link somewhere, and then clicking on another link, and then another and, somehow, I ended up here. Anyhow, my point ... I just noticed that you're in Wisconsin.
Me too. :)

I'm glad you found the crafting blogging world. It is full of great people. And, thanks again for that wonderful piece of fabric. I'm thinking that I might stretch it around a canvas frame and hang it on the wall. How was doing embroidery on paper? Did you tear the paper?
to green kitchen.....
I'm so glad you like the fabric - stretching it on canvas is a very good idea - it'll look great hanging!
As for embroidery on paper - I used heavy cardstock & just poked away. The paper & my fingers!
I'd like to try it with my sewing machine too. I have a Sewing Machine lesson with a friend of mine this week. She's going to teach me a thing or two. I need the lessons - oh man.
to "your favorite wife"....
Thanks for taking a look @ my site. I'm over near the Mn/Wi border - not far from the Twin Cities.
